Flat One is Forbidden's show with the longest development period to date. We never meant for that to happen. The Moon Scene, Dancing Feet and the Can Scene were created for the Diorama Arts' Centre open day in 1997. We carried on finding opportunities to create more material, mainly at our Freestyle Performances. As different members of the Ensemble came and went from the project, the characters changed, the show grew and it has taken on a life of its own. This month we have used it as part of our Education Programme, in order to inspire young people to create theatre in the Forbidden way: collaboratively, through having a laugh and aiming to create something that they are genuinely proud of. Thanks must go to everyone who has stuck by this project (both artists and audiences), who knows where it might take us next.... |
